Hi Friends,
It has been a tough year already! Admittedly navigating our church activities these first few weeks of 2022 has been a challenge. Many of our people have been very sick battling COVID and we made the decision to limit our worship on January 16 to virtual-only. The beginning of our midweek Discipleship classes is sparse at this point. Certainly, God has a plan for restoring His church. Continue to pray for our next steps.
Because of the uncertainty of these next steps we have indefinitely pushed back the return of enjoying regular midweek fellowship meals again. Nevertheless, we are very pleased to announce that Brenda Kennedy has answered the call to become our regular meal preparer! Brenda has experience in preparing meals for large numbers at her previous church and is convinced that God has led her here to share her gifts with Piney Grove. We shall let you know of our plans to proceed.
The next tentative gathering for a fellowship meal will be sponsored by our Youth. February 16 has been slated as a chili fundraiser for our student ministries and all are invited to join us at 5:00 to sample all the flavors and vote on your favorite!
Another opportunity to gather in fellowship is February 28 at 6:00 when Anthony Lucas will be the guest speaker at our 3-M (Methodist Men & More) meeting. Contact David Stewart to lend a hand.
Ash Wednesday, March 2 begins the season of Lent in our Christian year. We shall experience a service of Repentance and Refocus that evening at 6:00 in our sanctuary.
All ages of classes are encouraged to join us for this multi-generational time of reflection and direction.
In His Service
