It is common practice among our members to practice what is recorded in Acts 2 when the Spirit filled church spent time together worshiping God as well as investing in their shared life. Our people meet in homes and ‘break bread together’ often. When any of our family has a need others step in and lend a hand without reservation. We recognize it takes a ‘village to rear a child’ and we take our responsibility of mentoring and training children and youth in the ways of God as our collective calling. We respect our elderly and ensure they are not forgotten. Single or married, large or small, we are family.

There is a mantra that is shared among the people of faith. That is “Make a Friend, Be a Friend, and Bring a Friend to Christ”. Many people at Piney Grove will confidently answer the question of how they became part of this family with “my friend invited me”. Most of our membership is comprised of folks who were invited by a friend to join the family. We are all friends.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of Christ, in His Virgin Birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of God, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life; we also believe His power and gifts are available to believers today.

We believe in grace for salvation via repentance from sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as the way to be in an authentic relationship with God.

We believe in the power of grace by the Holy Spirit to lead us from a sin-broken life to a life of regeneration and holiness.

We believe in the sacraments of Water Baptism and Holy Communion as a means of experiencing God’s Grace. We believe these sacred expressions of faith are outward signs of an inward working of Grace. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as we become filled with God’s presence.

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God. We believe that ongoing Bible study with fellow Disciples can be a means of God’s Grace in our faith journey together.
