Donna Flenniken, Diaconal Minister of Christian Education
dflenn@pineygroveumc.com
Church has always been an extended home to Donna. Even as a child her family lived across the street from their church and played in the church anytime, because the doors were always open. The church adults were her aunts, uncles and grandparents and the other children were her brothers, sisters and cousins. So it was that she felt called to ministry to help create and be part of a congregation like the one that nurtured her faith. Donna came to Hot Springs in 1973 when her husband Thad joined the Garland County Community College staff. Donna and her children Tess and Wes became members of the Piney Grove Family in 1980. About 1990 she became Director of Christian Education for Piney Grove and attended Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary during the summers for ten years to become a Diaconal Minister of the UMC. Donna says the joy has been and continues to be in walking arm-in-arm with this church family in ministry to this community for the risen Christ.
